Work includes ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, ISO 22716, ISO 10012, and research, development, and innovation management systems, alongside lean manufacturing, process mapping, layout optimization, control plans, FMEA, and statistical process control. The organization also addresses EN 1090 requirements for structural metal components, including conformity assessment, manufacturing process verification, and welding qualification.

Its engineering and equipment safety activities cover machinery, work equipment, cable transport installations, storage racking, and explosive atmospheres. Services encompass risk assessment, control system analysis, applicable standards and legislation, technical documentation, accident expertise, and training. CATIM holds quality and environmental management certifications and operates accredited testing, metrology, and noise laboratories under NP EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, with laboratory locations in Porto, Lisbon, and Braga. It also acts as a product certification body accredited under NP EN ISO/IEC 17065:2014 and as European Notified Body No. 0464 for machinery, gas appliances, and pressure equipment.
