Bute Discs

Bute Discs engineers patented adjustable disc chain systems that retrofit to agricultural frames for weed control, tillage, stubble management and seedbed preparation. Its Hook & Eye cast link system keeps chains connected while operators fit discs from the product family, enabling changes without removing the chain. The portfolio includes closely spaced Bute 625 discs for controlled surface tillage and seedbed work, wider spaced Bute 850 discs for wetter soils and heavier residue, and BDX Half Discs designed to reduce downtime during disc replacement. Dog Leg Harrows split stubble at the nodes while maintaining soil cover, while Turbine Blades manage residue in no till operations with minimal soil disturbance. Universal weights allow disc loading to be adjusted while chains remain connected.

With farming roots dating to 1890, the business is based on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula and centres its development work on depth control across changing soil and seasonal conditions. The Hook & Eye system originated with Bute Engineering and is designed for compatibility with established frame brands including Kelly, Humdinger, Brookfields, CRF Supa Chains and Dalbo Power Chains. Bute Discs also forms part of complete frame packages through Dalbo Powerchain configurations supported by Techgrow and CRF Supa Chain frames built by Clear Ridge Fabrication. This model combines retrofit equipment for existing machinery with new broadacre frame options for farming operations managing residue, weeds and surface tillage at scale.
