At the center of Apex Mining Co., Inc.’s operations is the Maco Gold Mine in Davao de Oro, Southern Mindanao, where the company mines and mills gold, silver, and other ores, metals, and minerals. Registered in 1970, the company has developed from its origins at Maco into a gold producer with an operating base in Mindanao and a portfolio that extends to other mineral properties. Its work combines mine operations with milling, placing production of precious metals at the core of the business.

The company also operates through Itogon Suyoc Resources Inc., which manages the Sangilo Mine Site in Itogon and the Suyoc Mine Site in Mankayan, Benguet. Sangilo began commercial operations in 2019 and contributes 10 percent of production and revenue, while Suyoc remains under care and maintenance. Through Monte Oro Resources and Energy, Inc., the group holds interests in mining projects, solid waste disposal management, and a 30 percent participating interest in Service Contract 72 covering the Sampaguita natural gas field offshore northeast of Palawan. Operations are supported by ISO 9001, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001 certifications, with risk management integrated into business planning and operating responsibilities.
