CPI Books prints and binds books, journals, catalogues, directories and commercial literature for publishing houses, self-publishers, scientific, technical, medical and academic publishers, and businesses. Its product portfolio includes hardback and paperback books, colour books, thin-paper products, loose-leaf publications, educational books, technical and medical titles, scientific and professional journals, catalogues and directories. Binding and finishing options for hardcovers include rounded or square spines, quarter-cloth binding, printed-paper facings or jackets, ribbons, mottling and multiple finishes. The business produces work from single-copy print on demand orders to runs of one million copies.
The company operates seven manufacturing sites in three divisions: CPI Books for trade, CPI Antony Rowe for STMA and digital work, and CPI William Clowes for professional publishing. These operations produce 160 million books annually, alongside journals and loose-leaf products. Publishing support includes warehousing, fulfilment, distribution, online retail services, auto stock replenishment and Zero Inventory models. Integrated warehousing, distribution and supply-chain operations are supported by inkjet digital printing and internal IT systems. Global Print Solutions extends print services internationally, while the wider group has 13 printing factories across France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Czechia.
