About This Company

KLS PurePrint A/S is a commercial printing house producing printed matter, including business cards and stationery. Its PurePrint concept covers 100% biodegradable printed matter designed to be free of harmful chemicals and heavy metals. The company develops and markets products based on circular principles that can be certified by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. Its environmental work draws on Cradle to Cradle principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on reducing the impact of printing on people and nature.

The business began in 1946, when Preben Larsen and his father Knud printed business cards and stationery using a manual press. It developed from a family operation into a modern industrial company, moved to larger facilities in Glostrup in 1984, and relocated to its current premises in Hvidovre in 1998. The company holds ISO 9001 quality certification, ISO 14001 environmental certification, Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification, and FSC certification. It became the first printing house in Scandinavia to achieve CO2-neutral certification in 2009. In 2015, it introduced its first biodegradable PurePrint item, and in 2016 adopted the KLS PurePrint name. More than 150 companies with sustainability ambitions have printed with PurePrint.
