Tharisa plc operates an integrated resources business centred on platinum group metals and chrome concentrates, commodities it positions as important to the energy transition and the decarbonisation of economies. Its mine-to-megawatt model combines exploration, mining, processing, beneficiation, marketing, sales and logistics. Production includes platinum group elements with gold and chrome concentrate, while processing capacity has been expanded through the Genesis, Voyager, Challenger and Vulcan plants. The Vulcan facility applies established technology to recover fine chrome, extending the value obtained from mined material.

The Group owns the Tharisa Mine through its Tharisa Minerals subsidiary and manages distinct revenue streams within a centralised structure of common policies and defined authority. Its growth strategy seeks diversification across assets, jurisdictions and commodities while maintaining integrated control of processing, marketing and logistics. Energy resilience is a material operational priority, reflected in work on a chrome-based redox flow battery designed to store surplus solar generation and deliver more consistent power to energy-intensive mining operations. The company has set a target to reduce carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2030 from its 2020 financial year baseline and has established a roadmap toward net carbon neutrality by 2050.
