Xtreme Clean began offering carpet cleaning services in San Jose, California in 1991. Owner Mike McClain specialized in carpet cleaning for apartment, realty, business and residential clients. His attention to detail and quality customer service quickly caught on and Xtreme Clean became one of the premier carpet cleaning companies in the San Jose area. In 2000, after having twin boys, Ryan and Alec, Mike and Tracey sold Xtreme Clean to two long-term employees so that they could move back home and live closer to family and friends.

Mike and his family returned to New Mexico in 2000 and resolved to build Xtreme Clean from the ground up. His high level of professional standards has helped Xtreme Clean become a household name. In addition to carpet cleaning, Xtreme Clean has added additional cleaning services, such as tile, grout, upholstery cleaning, air duct cleaning, and emergency flood service.
