Delpharm

Delpharm is a contract development and manufacturing organization dedicated to pharmaceutical companies. Its work spans drug development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and packaging across solid oral, semi-solid, non-sterile liquid, and sterile dosage forms. The group produces medicines including tablets, effervescent products, softgel capsules, gels, creams, ointments, solutions, syrups, nasal sprays, ampoules, vials, and prefilled syringes. Sterile operations encompass manufacturing, filling, automated visual inspection, and secondary packaging for prefilled syringes, while its nasal spray capacity covers production batches and filling in glass or plastic bottles.

Founded in 1988 through the acquisition of a former Delmas plant in Tours, the group has expanded through acquisitions of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and development centers in Europe and North America. Its network comprises 18 production sites and three development centers, with more than 6,500 employees. Delpharm states that all of its turnover comes from development and manufacturing for customers, reflecting a focused contract manufacturing model. Manufacturing capability extends to more than one billion units annually across multiple dosage forms. Recent additions include a sterile injectable development center in Leiden and a Meppel facility for solid oral forms with FDA certification, strengthening the group’s capacity to serve the United States market.
