Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. develops and manufactures in-wheel electric propulsion systems for electric and hybrid vehicles, combining radial-flux motors, power electronics, and control systems for individual wheel operation. Its direct-drive architecture eliminates the transmission and is engineered to fit around standard knuckles and friction braking systems, enabling integration across passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, and light commercial vehicles. The scalable motor design spans outputs from 50 kW and 500 Nm to 500 kW and 6,000 Nm per wheel. Its L1500 system delivers more than 110 kW and 1,500 Nm per motor within wheel rims of 19 inches or larger.

Founded in 2006, the company has developed and validated its technology in more than 50 vehicle applications and commercialized it in homologated production vehicles since 2020. Engineering resources include a dedicated testing facility with test benches, environmental and durability chambers, vehicle platforms, and component testing equipment, alongside a small-scale motor manufacturing line and semi-automated production processes. Since 2023, Elaphe has concentrated on direct-drive motion control for established vehicle manufacturers. Its software manages motor operation, wheel slip, torque vectoring, brake blending, vertical vehicle motion, and motor sound and vibration, while its quality management system is integrated into operations and reviewed against ISO 9001:2015.
