Lukas Meindl GmbH & Co. KG makes footwear for mountaineering, hiking, trekking, leisure and winter use, alongside traditional Bavarian brogues and shoes for children and teenagers. Its alpine and hiking collection spans light trekking models, walking boots and more technical mountain footwear. The company combines selected materials with handcrafted production and maintains genuine double stitching for selected boots. Footwear technologies include the MFS Memory Foam System, MFS Vacuum construction and Comfort fit designs that add space around the toes and flex point. Its Pure Freedom line applies a zero heel concept, thin Vibram soles and elastic nylon uppers to barefoot footwear.

The Bavarian family business has manufactured boots and shoes in Kirchanschöring for more than 300 years. Environmental and social considerations form part of its EcoStep framework across product, partners, employees, production, packaging, logistics and development. Since 2013, Meindl Identity models have used upper leather from organic cattle in the Bavarian and Austrian Alpine region, with traceability from pasture to shoe. The inner lining is tanned without chromium, while reforestation projects offset carbon dioxide associated with Identity leather. Its outdoor sock collection is made in Italy and incorporates merino wool, TENCEL Modal and recyclable materials. The socks hold OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification and comply with the REACH regulation.
