Broadcasting, streaming, radio, and screen production form the core of MBC Group, a media and entertainment company serving audiences across the Middle East and North Africa. Founded in London in 1991 with the independent satellite channel MBC1, the group has developed into a multiplatform organisation with more than 13 free-to-air television channels and three radio stations. Its channel portfolio includes MBC1, MBC2, MBC3, MBC4, MBC5, MBC MASR, MBC IRAQ, and MBC LOUD FM. The business combines advertising-supported broadcast activity with digital distribution and entertainment content.

Shahid is the group’s Arabic streaming platform, carrying original productions, series, films, live television, sports, children’s programming, and international content through subscription and advertising-supported services. MBC Studios serves as its production arm, focused on bringing stories from the Middle East to television and film audiences. The group also operates MBC Academy, a media and production training platform established in 2020 to identify and develop Saudi talent. Its headquarters opened in Riyadh in September 2022, following an earlier headquarters location in Dubai Media City. MBC Group’s operations span established broadcast channels, digital video distribution, production, talent development, gaming, music, events, and media initiatives connected with Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector.
