RTL Group SA operates a European entertainment business spanning television, streaming, radio, content production, digital media and advertising sales. Its portfolio includes interests in 86 television channels, seven streaming services and 42 radio stations, with channel families holding first or second positions in five European markets. RTL Deutschland is the group’s largest business unit, active across television, streaming, radio, digital media and publishing. Consumer services include RTL+ and WOW, while M6+ extends the streaming portfolio. The RTL brand combines entertainment with independent journalism across its broadcast, audio and online operations.

Content creation is anchored by Fremantle, which develops, produces and distributes scripted and unscripted programming through teams in 28 countries and produces more than 11,000 hours annually. The group also owns Bedrock, a streaming technology company, Smartclip, an advertising technology business, and social media company We Are Era. Ad Alliance coordinates advertising sales in Germany, while RTL AdAlliance represents premium media brands internationally across broadcast and digital video. Bertelsmann is the majority shareholder, and the group is publicly traded in Luxembourg and Frankfurt and included in the MDAX. In 2026, RTL Group completed its acquisition of Sky Deutschland, adding further scale to its streaming and entertainment operations.
