Rinspeed AG develops automotive concept vehicles and mobility systems that examine autonomous driving, connected transport, modular vehicle architecture, electric propulsion and sustainability. Its concepts combine vehicle design with digital services, sensor systems, human-machine interfaces and advanced interior technologies. The Snap, microSNAP, MetroSnap and CitySnap programs separate reusable vehicle bodies from chassis that carry components subject to wear and technological aging. This architecture supports passenger, cargo, parcel station and mobile retail applications, with aviation-inspired body-swapping systems designed to exchange pods quickly. Earlier concepts have explored automated driving interfaces, retractable steering wheels, onboard drones, connected displays, camera-based vehicle monitoring and intelligent lighting.

The company works with engineering, software, electronics, materials and mobility partners to turn its concepts into demonstrators of integrated transport technologies. Collaborations have covered automated driving software, sensor fusion, digital mobility ecosystems, fleet management, data services, battery systems, thermal management, connectivity, payment technologies and vehicle interior materials. Rinspeed also traces a record of automotive interface development to its multifunctional steering wheel, introduced in 1986 with controls for radio and telephone functions. In Zumikon near Zurich, The Rinspeed Collection serves as a setting for corporate events, workshops, presentations and discussions focused on future mobility, with founder and owner Frank M.
