Sunrise Meadows Farm

Sunrise Meadows Farm is a small family-operated farm in Morning Meadows, Central Alberta, raising a small flock of sheep on limited acreage. The farm sells live lambs directly from the farm for breeding programs and freezer use. It also provides on-farm slaughter and can arrange butchering, with processing charged by weight. Sheep are selectively bred for health, physical conformation, and mothering ability, supporting the development of breeding animals as well as lambs intended for household meat supply.

Its poultry operation follows a pasture-based management system during warm months, when hens move through grazing areas after the sheep. The birds are relocated to fresh plots every few days, where they forage on grass and insects and help clean up sheep droppings. During winter, the hens are kept free-run in a coop with an oversized run and fresh hay. Their year-round ration combines organic grains and hay produced by Takoda Coen of Coen Farms. This integrated flock management links sheep grazing with poultry husbandry and pasture sanitation.
