Founded in 1917, Leuchtturm1917 is a family-owned stationery business that develops notebooks, planners, journals, sketchbooks, writing instruments, and storage products. Now managed by Axel and Max Stürken in the fourth generation, the company combines more than a century of experience in fine stationery with a focus on functional details, clear design, and a broad palette of colours. Its notebooks and planners are made for handwriting, note-taking, learning, drawing, and project work, reflecting the company’s belief that ideas take form through writing by hand. The product portfolio also includes the Original Bullet Journal in community-selected colours and the Drehgriffel writing instrument series.

The company serves individual users as well as business customers seeking branded stationery and corporate gifts. Its corporate branding work covers notebooks, planners, and writing instruments with logo embossing, custom finishes, engraved pens, printed notebook content, wrapbands, and gift packaging. Customised products can be produced from 50 copies, while finishing is carried out near Hamburg to support short production and delivery times. Leuchtturm1917 also offers individual personalisation for notebooks, journals, calendars, and Drehgriffel pens through cover embossing and engraving. All paper used for its notebooks, sketchbooks, and planners is FSC-certified, and pages and covers are printed with mineral-oil-free, water-based inks and varnishes. Its products meet the requirements of the EU REACH chemicals regulation.
