Musim Mas Group

Musim Mas Group is an integrated palm oil company whose operations extend from oil palm cultivation and milling to refining, oleochemicals, specialty fats and downstream manufacturing. Its portfolio covers crude palm oil, palm kernel oil and intermediate palm products, alongside fatty acids, fatty alcohols, esters, surfactants, emulsifiers, refined glycerine, soap noodles, palm wax and vitamin E. The group also produces cooking oils, margarine and shortening, specialty application oils, medium-chain triglycerides, rumen-protected fats and biodiesel. These materials serve food and beverage, personal care, home care, pharmaceutical, health supplement, animal nutrition, polymer and industrial applications.

The business operates plantations, mills, refineries, kernel crushing plants, oleochemical facilities and specialty fats plants, with primary operations in Indonesia. Its supply chain also includes tankers and barges used to export palm products and derivatives, while Inter Continental Oils and Fats, a group member, handles global marketing activities. Musim Mas began in Medan as the Nam Cheong Soap Factory and has developed operations in 14 countries. Its sustainability program covers responsible sourcing, supplier engagement, traceability, fire prevention, conservation, water and waste management, soil health and smallholder support. All of its Indonesian plantations with mills received Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil certification in 2012, and the group became the first major palm oil company verified by the Palm Oil Innovation Group in 2019.
