Pharmaline

Established in 1987 as a Malia Group subsidiary, Pharmaline manufactures, markets and sells pharmaceutical products, combining locally manufactured generic medicines with licensed formulations from multinational partners. Its licensing portfolio includes agreements with Abbott, Exeltis, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Sandoz, Pierre Fabre, Tripharma, Phadisco, NATCO, Sudair and Cureleads. Product development follows market demand, with research, scientific, engineering, marketing and medical representation functions contributing to the introduction of generic medicines. The company supplies the Lebanese market and export markets across the Middle East, the GCC, North Africa, Russia and Europe.

Manufacturing is centered on a facility in Nahr Ibrahim, where trained personnel operate high-capacity machinery in controlled cGMP environments. The plant is managed through Oracle Process Manufacturing and can operate around the clock. A third expansion in 2019 doubled manufacturing capacity. EU GMP certification, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 underpin operations, alongside a documented quality management system overseen by the Quality Assurance Unit. Its controls address premises, equipment, procedures, materials, documentation and personnel, while environmental practices focus on pollution prevention, emissions reduction, reuse, reduction and recycling. Education programmes developed with the Lebanese University have also served healthcare professionals in public and private sectors.
