Propal

Propal produces pulp, paper and board for graphic arts, printing, writing and packaging applications. Its paper portfolio includes white and natural uncoated grades, coated papers with gloss or matte finishes, offset papers, continuous-form papers, coloured boards and machine-glazed lightweight papers. Products are supplied in sheets, rolls, folios and reams in specified weights. The company also develops the Earth Pact line of papers and cardboards, made with a natural tone and available in different gauges. Its food-contact portfolio includes grease- and moisture-barrier board designed without plastic lamination for food-service uses, including recyclable, repulpable and compostable materials.

The company is part of the Carvajal S.A. Organization and has more than 60 years of experience. It operates two production plants, in Yumbo and Guachené, covering fibre, pulp, recovery, power, boilers, paper machines, enamelling, conversion, shipping and molded products. More than 80 percent of the fibre used in its paper production comes from alternative sources, principally sugarcane bagasse, with rice straw also used as an organic-waste input. Its papers and boards serve printed books, magazines, newspapers, advertising materials, commercial publications, forms, invoices, folders and school products. Certifications include the Colombian Environmental Seal, BASC standards, authorized economic operator status, and ISEGA certification for food-contact boards and lightweight papers.
