Founded in 1996 by Tony Ratten, 4Legs produces fresh natural dog food for companion animals. The family business began with the development of a wholesome meal for Ratten’s Schnauzer, Coco, and has grown into a producer of refrigerated foods made with fresh meat, vegetables, fruit, grains, pasta and nutritional supplements. Its portfolio spans all natural recipes, complete and balanced bowls, gourmet meals and slow cooked meatballs, with formulations built around chicken, beef, kangaroo, lamb and salmon. Products are preservative free and made without added salt, sugar, colours or flavours.

Several generations of the Ratten family work in the business, maintaining its long standing focus on fresh food and practical canine nutrition. 4Legs sources meat from human grade abattoirs and major local suppliers, alongside produce, grains, fish oil and botanical ingredients. The company works with dog nutritionists and veterinarians in product development, combining essential vitamins and minerals with ingredients selected for digestion, skin and coat condition, and general vitality. Selected recipes incorporate ProAge™, a botanical blend containing curcuma, cloves, rosemary and grapefruit extract, while designated meals are formulated to meet AAFCO Dog Nutrient Profiles for adult maintenance or all life stages.
