Akela Pet Foods Ltd

Akela Pet Foods markets dog and cat nutrition under the Akela and WholePrey names, combining complete foods with complementary treats. Its portfolio includes complete wet food for working dogs, formulated with freshly prepared ingredients and recipes such as Original, Fish Feast, Wild Game, Angus Beef, Lamb, and Duck and Turkey. These foods are free from grain, gluten, dairy, and soya, and incorporate fruits, vegetables, herbs, seaweed, minerals, prebiotic FOS, glucosamine, and chondroitin. Akela also pairs wet meals with its 80:20 kibble for working dogs.

Treats form a distinct part of the business, including meat strips and pâté chub sausages for dogs and cats. The pâté products contain 97 percent fresh meat or fish and are intended for adult pets as well as puppies and kittens when fed alongside complete food. Meat strips are designed to be broken into smaller portions for training or feeding as a snack. Akela supports regular feeding programmes with guidance on portion calculation and maintains retail availability through a network of Akela stockists.
