About This Company

For more than 180 years, Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry has cast bronze bells for churches, farms and ships, alongside carillons and smaller bells. The sixth-generation business combines traditional bell founding with the mechanical and electronic systems required to operate bell installations. Its work encompasses custom casting, bell-ringing automation, radio remote control, shutter motors and installation, serving projects that require both enduring bronze components and dependable operational equipment. Bells produced by the foundry are installed at national monuments, including Oslo City Hall and Nidaros Cathedral.

The foundry also supplies and installs large electric clock systems for civic buildings, monuments and towers. Facade clocks, town hall clocks and tower clocks can be integrated with bell-ringing equipment through shared electronic controls, with time synchronisation via GPS or the internet. The company maintains existing clock installations and can renew controls and clock motors while retaining original dials and hands where appropriate. Beyond bells and clocks, its bronze casting capability extends to building and ship signs, memorial plaques, bearings, decorative objects and commissioned art castings. Operations continue in a foundry building constructed in 1925 and subsequently expanded.
