Turkish Cymbals

Turkish Cymbals manufactures handcrafted bronze cymbals for professional drummers, percussionists, bands, and orchestras. Its portfolio spans Classic, Jazz, Rock, and Custom series, with crash, ride, hi-hat, splash, china, and effects instruments alongside box sets and cymbal bags. The company also develops artist signature collections, including AD Astra by Özgür Can Öney and Travel by Chris Wabich, as well as anniversary editions. Product development combines established cymbal forms with contemporary sound concepts across traditional, dark, raw, dry, and effects-oriented cymbal designs.

Founded in Istanbul in 1996 by master cymbal smith Mehmet Tamdeğer and partners, the business draws on a local craft lineage that Tamdeğer entered in 1950 under the apprenticeship of Mikael Zilçan. Its manufacturing process uses techniques traced to the early seventeenth century, forging red-hot bronze discs in ovens as the basis for cymbal production. Tamdeğer became proprietor in January 2020 after acquiring the remaining shares from his last partner. The company maintains its head office in Istanbul and works with Classic City Percussion Ltd as its distributor in the United States.
