Perstorp develops and manufactures specialty chemical products for industrial formulations and material applications. Its portfolio includes acids, mono- and poly-alcohols, aldehydes, sulfates, formates, polyols, plasticizers, synthetic ester base fluids, dielectric coolants, coating building blocks and animal nutrition products. The company supplies resin and binder components for polyester, polyurethane and alkyd systems, alongside additives and specialty chemicals for waterborne, powder, UV/EB-cured and high-solid coatings. Its chemistry is used in plastics, lubricants, thermal management, flexible PVC, feed preservation, grain management, and animal gut health applications.

The company has more than 140 years of experience in organic chemistry, process technology and application development. It has been a wholly owned subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad since 2022 and joined the PCG Specialty Chemicals Division in 2025 alongside sister company BRB. Its Pro-Environment portfolio includes renewable or recycled raw material options using mass balance and partly segregated biobased approaches. These products are chemically identical to fossil counterparts and include polyols, acids, alcohols, plasticizers and curing, PVC and intumescent-system specialties. Pro-Environment products, mass balance and product carbon footprint calculations are certified under ISCC PLUS, and customers receive Sustainability Declarations with sustainable-content and product carbon footprint data.
